2009 National Convening

The 3rd and final Fulfilling the Dream Fund Convening, "Advancing Equal Opportunity in an Obama Era" was held October 21st - 23rd in Charlotte, NC.  Grantees, donors and key partners of the Dream Fund came together for these two days to celebrate our many accomplishments as well as to dialogue and strategize on the opportunities and challenges to advancing equal opportunity in the future.

The Goals of the 3rd Annual FDF Convening were to:

  • Celebrate Accomplishments!

Lift up the lessons and celebrate the achievements of our collective learnings addressing structural exclusion, expanding opportunity and promoting access for everyone.

  • Strengthen our Social Networks

Deepen the relationships that have been built over the last four years across issues, regions and strategies between advocates and donors as our journey continues beyond the life of the Dream Fund.

  • Discuss Strategic Opportunities

Create space for participants to engage in peer-to-peer dialogue to advance an equal opportunity agenda, including a discussion of the economic crisis and impact on fundraising strategies.
