2008 National Convening
On September 21st - 23rd, 2008, the Dream Fund network convened for the 2nd National Convening entitled, "Communicating Opportunity and Equity" in Denver, Colorado. This convening brought together 100 people from 40 community based organizations and 15 private foundations working to expand opportunities for women and people of color.
The goals of the gathering were to:
• Learning and Collective Strategizing: To share and deepen communication strategies towards building public support for efforts that address structural exclusion.
• Networking and Relationship Building: To build regional and national connections.
• Skills Building: To provide skills building training in the area of strategic communications, messaging and framing.
