Pittsburgh Unions and Neighborhoods Invested in Transforming Economic Development (Pittsburgh - UNITED) is an alliance of local community, faith and labor organizations promoting a progressive, inclusive, and development agenda through research, education and advocacy. Pittsburgh UNITED was established in January of 2007 by local and national foundations, which sought to identify tools for ensuring that economic development policies benefit the historically disadvantaged in society through Community Benefit Agreements (CBA's).

Pittsburgh UNITED is an alliance comprised of leaders from community, faith-based, union, environmental and academic organizations in Pittsburgh who are beginning to build a shared vision of what social and economic justice should look like across all sectors of our community and economy. Through the coalition, communities monitor the implementation of the CBA to insure that all the commitments are met and the intended benefits are received

Dream Fund Project

The Dream Fund supports Pittsburgh UNITED in its efforts to establish a CBA around a key development project affecting low-income communities and communities of color. With technical assistance from the Partnership for Working Families, Pittsburgh UNITED is in the process of building strong coalitions in both the Hill District and the Northside to ensure that community members of low income and people of color are involved.
