Mainstream Media Project (MMP) is a public education organization whose mission is to utilize the broadcast media to introduce new voices, perspectives, and approaches to urgent economic, social, environmental and global security challenges facing the nation and global community. The Mainstream Media Project operates three complementary programs: A World of Possibilities radio program; Guests on Call campaign and interview booking service, and Educasting, a movement-building educational resource that greatly extends the life and reach of A World of Possibilities programming.

Launched as a nationally syndicated program in 2003, A World of Possibilities is MMP's award-winning, one-hour weekly radio program featuring bridge-building, solution-oriented conversations with leaders, analysts, social innovators, and leading thinkers on critical national and global issues. Each World of Possibilities radio broadcast reaches between 700,000 and a million radio listeners, and approximately 25,000 - 30,0000 additional listeners via pod casting and internet streaming.

Guests on Call is a unique public education and media access service that concentrates on bringing new angles, broader approaches and solution-oriented analysis on a wide range of economic, environmental, social and global security issues. Guests on Call works with 49 national and 14 international networks, 26 regional networks, and more than 700 individual radio stations and programs.

Dream Fund Project

The Mainstream Media Project's Affirmative Action Media Project, supported by the Dream Fund, is a two-year radio and audio-based program that utilizes the broadcast media to elevate public discourse and facilitate public engagement on affirmative action. By bringing the work of Dream Fund grantees and others to the public's attention, the project seeks to dispel common misconceptions of affirmative action and improve public understanding of its benefits and applications across the public and private sectors. The project mobilizes the Mainstream Media Project's complementary programs: Guests on Call, which places guest experts for interviews on news, talk, and public affairs programs on radio stations nationwide, and A World of Possibilities, a weekly radio program. Through these programs, MMP works to promote public dialogue on affirmative action within the ‘opportunity for all' framework, to effectively frame and communicate affirmative action issues, and highlight the most appropriate leaders, advocates and other spokespeople radio and audio-based activities under the project.
