Legal Services for Prisoners with Children (LSPC) advocates for the human rights and empowerment of incarcerated parents, children, family members and people at risk for incarceration. Since its creation, LSPC has focused on the specific legal and social policy issues affecting incarcerated mothers and their children, parents in prison, and family members caring for the children of incarcerated parents. The organization has a rich history of successful advocacy on behalf of prisoners and their families.
LSPC is internationally recognized as an advocacy organization which has developed a truly holistic approach to working with incarcerated women and their families. While LSPC participates in the legal arena, they work with their clients to develop their own advocacy skills so that they become leading participants in defining their issues, needs and solutions.
Dream Fund Project
All of Us or None is a program of Legal Services for Prisoners with Children that focuses on building a civil rights movement of people who face discrimination because of past incarceration or a conviction history. Led by formerly incarcerated people throughout the state of California, the goal of All of Us or None is to make changes in public policy and restore the civil and human rights of formerly incarcerated individuals by strengthening the voices of people most directly affected by mass incarceration. Its primary strategy for change is political organizing-involving new people coming out of prison or who have a conviction history, developing long-term strategic alliances through coalitions and public education, and mobilizing people to take concerted action.
