The Latin American Coalition is dedicated to serving Mecklenburg County's 75,000 Hispanic families with the services that allow them to overcome language, economic, educational and cultural barriers while offering the wider community opportunities to learn about and connect with the Latino population.
The Latin American Coalition's strives to promote full Hispanic participation in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region by informing, educating and advocating for the Latin American community.
The Latin American Coalition seeks to help build a diverse and vibrant Charlotte-Mecklenburg community which embraces, supports and respects people of all cultures and backgrounds.

Dream Fund Project

The Latin American Coalition receives funding from the Dream Fund to support its efforts to increase college and university opportunities for immigrant and migrant students. The Latin American Coalition engages in public education and internet advocacy with students, community members and non-immigrant communities in order to increase the number of leaders and spokespersons committed to opportunity and access. The Latin American Coalition also provides support services to students that are currently denied access to the community college system by working with local high schools as well as establishing a scholarship fund. The Coalition hopes to increase its regional coordination by continuing to work in statewide networks and coalitions seeking to increase access to higher education for undocumented students.
