The Greensboro Housing Coalition (GHC) is a referral, informational, and educational organization dedicated to giving information about:
• Where to find emergency shelter, rental housing, or housing with support services.
• What to do when you are about to be evicted or face foreclosure.
• How to get legal help if you face housing discrimination.
• How to get your landlord to make repairs.
• How to buy your first home.
• Where to get help with housing expenses in a crisis.
GHC advocates for decent, affordable housing for low and moderate income people and those with special needs and strives to bring together housing and service providers to collaborate in identifying and addressing unmet housing needs in our community. Our community needs a wide variety of housing opportunities, from emergency shelters to homeownership, with smooth access from one to the next. GHC provides the information, education, and cooperation that people need to climb the ladder - or to keep from falling off!
Dream Fund Project
The Greensboro Housing Coalition receives funding from the Dream Fund to support efforts to ensure that all residents, regardless of race or national origin, have access to and can secure safe housing. GHC organizes activities that address racial steering and increase access to decent housing for communities of color and seeks to build a strong constituency of informed leaders within these communities who could also become involved in local advocacy efforts.
