Good Schools Pennsylvania (GSPA) is a statewide non-profit organization working to build a civic climate that insists on a high quality public education experience for all children. Formed in 2001, its mission is to inform, rally, and mobilize citizens around platforms that call for adequate and equitable funding of every school district, implementation of programs with proven capacity to boost student achievement and common sense accountability measures to make sure every child succeeds.

Dream Fund Project

Good Schools Pennsylvania has partnered with the Education Law Center (ELC) and the Education Policy and Leadership Center (EPLC) to engage in a campaign of P-12 education finance reform in Pennsylvania. The partnership receives Dream Fund support to implement the Pennsylvania Campaign for Education Equity/Fair Funding for Successful Schools Initiative, a joint advocacy project of the EPLC, ELC and GSPA. This initiative seeks to engage students, parents, community leaders and other stakeholders in school finance reform. The initiative combines research, communication, advocacy and coalition-building strategies to develop a stronger public and policymaking climate that supports a fair and effective system of education finance in Pennsylvania.

Specifically, GSPA is engaging citizens in pressing key stakeholders to become champions of education finance reform. Together, all three groups will seek the implementation of the Campaign/Initiative in a collaborative manner; convene parents, students, legislators and community leaders to think through reform; develop messaging and present strategies about school funding and other educational issues and policy developments to the relevant communities.
